Ethics and malpractice guidelines

The Journal of Human Security and its publisher, Librello, follow the recommended "Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing” recommended by (COPE).

 

Publication Ethics for Journal Editors

  • The editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
  • Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an Editor's own research without the explicit written consent of the author(s).
  • Editors should provide guidance to authors and reviewers on everything that is expected of them.
  • Editors should make decisions on which articles to publish based on quality and suitability for the journal and without interference from the journal owner/publisher.
  • Editors should handle submissions in a fair, unbiased and timely manner and treat all manuscripts as confidential, for distribution to others for purposes of peer-review only.


Publication Ethics for Journal Reviewers

  • Assists the in making editorial decisions and, through the editorial communication with the author, may also assist the author in improving the manuscript.
  • Notify the editor for any invited referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported so that alternative reviewers can be contacted.
  • Respect the confidentiality of any information or material supplied during the review process.
  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest relating to a specific article or author.


Publication Ethics for Journal Authors

  • Should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The published paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work and avoid any fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements that constitute unethical behavior.
  • Ensure that the submitted papers are written entirely as original works, and have appropriately cited or quoted references.
  • Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
  • All individuals who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be named in an Acknowledgement section.
  • Is required by to declare any potential conflicts of interest relating to a specific article.
  • Author is oblige to promptly notify the journal’s publisher and cooperate with them to either retract the paper or to publish an appropriate erratum.


Publication Ethics for Journal Publisher

  • Submitted manuscripts are evaluated for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
  • The publisher will treat every individuals and submitted article with respect and professionalism.
